Updos... Yes, Please!

I was looking through my pictures the other day and found a ton of updo’s I’ve done for various bridal parties and special events. I love having the freedom to create beautiful art through hair.

I take many things into consideration when styling hair. What’s the clients personal style? How does her hair behave? What type of event is she attending? What fabulous outfit will she be wearing? What look is she going for? And so much more!

Thank you ladies for letting me be a part of your special day. I love what I do, because I get to work with amazing clients like you!

Have you seen all the hot hair trends for summer?

Have you seen all the hot hair trends for summer?  As I was walking Vinnie the other day I notice the following summer inspired hairstyles…

1.       FEATHERS! I am obsessed with this trend. There are so many different way to wear feathers. Whether they are clip-in or permanent extensions, feathers add a little sass to a day look or a pony tail.

   Let me know if you want this look. I have a number of different feathers available.

2.       BEACH WAVES. This trend is great for summer, because it allows you to work with the humidity and natural texture of your hair. Not only is this look simple, but it’s also very sexy.  There are a number of different ways to achieve this look.

·         Always start with a volumizer, which should be applied at the roots, such as Kenra Root Lifter. Then follow with a texturizing spray/styling cream, such as Pureology Text Twist , which can be distributed throughout the rest of your hair.

·         Next, twist large sections of your hair while blow drying them in a downward motion. You should always aim the blow-dryer downward, away from the roots and keep it a few inches away from your head. This will help give you the volume and texture you’re looking for.

·         Once your hair is dry, you can further define the look by curling large sections of hair. Alternating the directions you curl your hair and curling hair away from face will help give you the perfect beach look!

3.       BRAIDS. Not sure what to do with your hair? Why not add a braid. They can be worn so many different ways. You can create a headband, insert a side French braid, or fish-tail a pony.

4.       BRIGHT HIGHLIGHTS. Bright colors are everywhere this year, so why not add some to your hair? Instead of having to commit to all-over permanent color you can add semi-permanent extensions, which last up to 6 months. The extensions consist of human hair so you can style as you would your normal hair without having to worry about damaging them.

Potty pad... Me? No way, I'm too good for that!

I have always wanted a dog; preferably one that did not shed. I figured I’m around a lot of hair during the day and didn’t want to be around more in my house. One day I found myself scouring the internet when I came upon a 2-year-old Bichon Frise stray from Finally Home. His name- Vinnie. I knew from the moment I met him that he was The One.

Vinnie (a.k.a. my angel, my boo-boo, the Prince, the Mayor) is now my number one man. I love him so much!! He follows me around everywhere, even when I get spray tanned or my hair colored. He just sits patiently on my lap or in the corner waiting for mommy to get beautified.

I spoil him to death! Last week I was at the salon telling my coworkers and a client of mine that my dog Vinnie only drinks filtered water at home. I'm very strict with anyone who watches him. Filtered water is what he prefers and what I like him to have. Before I knew it, I was confessing that I won't let him be fed unless I'm right there watching him! I mean what if he chokes on a pebble of holistic dog food?!?

Did I mention that I make all his food too?

I know this sounds crazy but how else am I going to get him to live until he’s 100 years old?!?!?

Love the long, plum tight maxi, with a high slit. The great thing about this dress is that everyone can wear one. Ladies, trust me and try it!

The short black French Terry dress is my favorite look! This outfit is subtle, classy, and simple with minimal accessories and with over the knee boots

My favorite shoes! Fur. Buckle. Distressed. Gray. Sky-High. What else can I say? I want them yesterday!

Simple, sexy, multicolored dress with a cut-out- So Sexy!

This is a great change. Opaque tights with a shimmery dress. So hot for New Years Eve or a Christmas party.

These looks are so Kim K. The black dress with the simple pony is such an easy, classic look. Throw on a chunky necklace and you’re done! All the layers on the right  are gorgeous. All the trends come together with sleek simple black pants, simple pony, big accessories, rocker purse, and high high heels. AMAZING!

And my #1 Favorite... The Red Romper!

I LOVE THIS ROMPER! Especially paired with the nude shoe and chunky bracelets. Her beautiful hair and red lips complete the look to make this one my FAVORITE!!
